New Orleans is famous for its historic French Quarter, adorned with elegant lamp posts that exude a timeless charm and romantic ambiance. These lamp posts, often adorned with intricate designs and decorative elements, add to the city's unique architectural character and allure, creating a picturesque setting for visitors to explore and enjoy. This adjustable sterling silver ring would make a fabulous gift for yourself or a lover of historic New Orleans.

This ring is made from a vintage sterling silver spoon, 925, nickel-free. This ring will be adjusted to the size you request but it can easily be tightened or loosened at home should you want a different fit. As these are antique items, there may be minor wear and tear from its past life. Some rings may have engravings or markings. We do not offer any customization or marking removal at this time.

Spoon rings originated in 17th-century England. In those days, flatware was highly prized as it was made from solid silver and highly stylized and decorated in an heirloom manner. Popular lore explains that servants, unable to afford to buy 'proper' engagement rings would steal a flatware piece from their master's home. They would shape it into a ring and give it to their beloved for a marriage proposal. Thus, the earliest spoon rings served as symbols of love and commitment, in defiance of strict social and economic barriers.

There was a bit of a mix-up and I needed to exchange the ring I received. The maker was extremely helpful, kind, and patient. They were attentive over messages and quick to respond. Both rings arrived well-packed and swiftly. Both the original ring and the one I ended up with are beautiful and very well crafted. I’ve purchased cutlery rings before at craft fairs and this is by far the nicest I’ve handled. While it has weight, it isn’t clunky or heavy. The ring I received is light, comfortable, and sits nicely on my finger. I’m a fiddler and appreciate that this isn’t liable to come off my finger even if I play with it a bit. Very please, will certainly purchase again.
